Memory Trick: Speise means food/dish, and Karte is a card or map. A map showing all the food is your menu!
The Speisekarte is your food card.
Memory Trick: Combine Trink (drink) + Geld (money). It's literally 'drink money' given to your waiter.
Trinkgeld is money for a drink.
Memory Trick: Vor means 'before', and Speise means 'food/dish'. The dish you eat before the main course!
Vorspeise is the dish before the main meal.
Memory Trick: Think of rechnen (to calculate/reckon). The bill is the final calculation of your meal.
